LOVETTA WAGNER

$800.00

Lovetta Wagner was an American tattoo artist, daughter of Gus Wagner and Maud Wagner. Her parents taught her to tattoo, and she became a well known female tattoo artist despite never getting tattooed herself. Interestingly, her mother refused to let her father tattoo their daughter, and some industry experts suggest that Lovetta decided if she couldn’t be tattooed by her father, then she wouldn’t be tattooed by anyone (that’s why she doesn’t have any tattoos in this illustration).

In 1983 she inked Don Ed Hardy a rose tattoo. It was the last tattoo she did before she died that same year.
